[ensembl-dev] Using current VEP versions with old caches

Hi John,

I've just run a basic test and it seems to work fine for basic consequence
calling.

We don't make any guarantees on backwards compatibility of software/cache
combinations. You may run into issues using, for example, --check_existing
or --sift.
