Dear Ensembl team,

In human and mouse genomes the Ugt1a family is correctly treated as separate genes given distant promoters and despite shared exons 2-5. In rat genome they are unfortunately lumped together as ENSRNOG00000018740, which randomly changes the gene symbol from release to release. This creates on-going confusion with rat Ugt1a family.

Would you please split the rat Ugt1a gene family into separate genes in agreement with human and mouse genomes? I would greatly appreciate it going forward.

Thank you,
Alexei
