Dear all,

We have corrected a bug in the human cache files for the Variant
Effect Predictor (VEP) version 77 that were released at the start of
October 2014.

Please update your cache files for Ensembl transcripts with these new ones:
ftp://ftp.ensembl.org/pub/current_variation/VEP/homo_sapiens_vep_77_GRCh37.tar.gz
ftp://ftp.ensembl.org/pub/current_variation/VEP/homo_sapiens_vep_77_GRCh38.tar.gz

and for the merged (Ensembl and RefSeq transcripts) cache files:
ftp://ftp.ensembl.org/pub/current_variation/VEP/homo_sapiens_merged_vep_77_GRCh37.tar.gz
ftp://ftp.ensembl.org/pub/current_variation/VEP/homo_sapiens_merged_vep_77_GRCh38.tar.gz

The October files were missing some transcripts on the Y chromosome
and so VEP requests for variants on Y that fell within some genes were
erroneously called as 'intergenic'. This is now fixed for the
websites, off-line script and REST API. Our apologies for any
inconvenience caused.

Best wishes,
Fiona
