[ensembl-dev] relationship between api and database release

I would assume these are in tags/branches in ensembl CVS.  So, one would checkout using a different release as shown here:

http://uswest.ensembl.org/info/docs/api/api_cvs.html

(note 'branch-ensembl-60').
