Hi,
As of our next release, GO terms will be stored against transcripts
rather than translations.
This is to be able to store GO terms against non-coding transcripts.
Web display and Biomart will be unaffected, as GO terms are displayed
against a gene.
For the Perl API, get_all_DBLinks() will still work the same for genes
and transcripts. get_all_DBEntries() will need to be used from a
Transcript object rather than a Translation object.
Direct SQL queries will need to be run on ensembl_object_type =
'Transcript' rather than ensembl_object_type = 'Translation'.
This will be deployed for both Ensembl and Ensembl Genomes releases.
Should you have any queries about this, please get back in touch with us
either here or on helpdesk.
Kind regards,
Magali
