Hello David,

If you've the Ensembl Exon ID you can query it's rank, supposing you're
using BioMart:
This is a logical approach Gene ID -> Transcript ID -> Exon ID -> Exon Rank

http://www.ensembl.org/biomart/martview/787d31359f27ce07ff49c75236f027b0


If you've exon ID list you can go straight to get it's rank.

$query->addAttribute("rank");
