You may be interested to know that Ensembl Genomes, a sister project of 
Ensembl, provides genomes from  plants, invertebrate metazoa, fungi, 
protists and bacteria using the Ensembl platform. You can find out more 
at www.ensemblgenomes.org

Regarding Triticum aestivum - this is a somewhat unusual case where we 
do not currently provide gene models, instead providing an assembly with 
alignments to other sequences. You can find out more here:
