[ensembl-dev] What is the difference between cDNA a transcript and and the copy strand of the transcript?

Sorry to send a biology question to this list. But I would like to know if
I need to fetch the cDNA sequence data or transcript sequence data which I
should then complement to get the copy strand's sequence.

I am trying to better understand the differences between cDNA and the copy
strand of a transcript with regard to polyadenylation signal detection.
