[ensembl-dev] Running API scripts against old releases

I would like to run a Ensembl API script against quite an old release (whatever the last human release was which used the NCBI36 assembly). I have the latest API code downloaded, but I'm guessing that it's not just going to be a case of making a registry change and pressing go.

What is the recommended way to run automated queries against releases which are as old as this?

Cheers

Simon.
