[ensembl-dev] Ensembl REST API: difference between /info/rest and info/software endpoints?

Hi,

I am finding it difficult to understand the difference in meaning between
the versions returned by:

https://rest.ensembl.org/documentation/info/rest
https://rest.ensembl.org/documentation/info/software

Can someone help clarify this?
