[ensembl-dev] Referring to a specific gene build

Hi

Probably not a high priority, but is there an accepted way to refer to a specific gene build in papers?  i.e. for pig, the current genebuild is "released May 2012, patched Oct 2012" which is a little clumsy.  Perhaps there is another way?

Are there any plans to assign DOIs to specific gene builds/versions/patches etc?
