We are pleased to announce that the latest Ensembl and Ensembl Genomes updates have been released:

Highlights of this release include:
- Update of 50 human genes to translate non-ATG start codons as Methionine
- Addition of population frequency data from the NCBI Allele Frequency Aggregator (ALFA)
- 3 new plant and 2 new metazoan species
- Update to the Tasmanian Devil genome and annotation
- Batch update of the bacterial and archaea genomes in Ensembl Bacteria
