Subject: [ensembl-announce] Scheduled maintenance
Message-ID: <98540FEA-E1BE-4D45-9B86-C397BEC7F036@sanger.ac.uk>
Hi all
Please note that we intend to move the main Ensembl website, www.ensembl.org, to new hardware on Monday 5th September, most likely around noon UK time. There may be a short period of downtime whilst the Sanger web frontend is reconfigured to point at the new machines, but other sites, including mirrors, should not be affected by this process.
All Ensembl services and features should work normally on the new machines, but if you do spot any errors, please report them to helpdesk at ensembl.org
Thanks
Anne

Subject: [ensembl-announce] loss of ensembl services
Message-ID: <4E69E704.1070104@sanger.ac.uk>
Dear all,
Urgent maintenance is required on some of the Ensembl hardware. As a
consequence all Ensembl services based at Hinxton will be unavailable
from 4pm BST this afternoon. We expect this to last for no longer than
30 minutes. The services affected will be the websites (www.ensembl.org,
archive sites, vega.sanger.ac.uk, pre.ensembl.org) and the MySQL servers
(ensembldb.ensembl.org and martdb.ensembl.org). The website and database
mirrors will be unaffected. Apologies for any inconvenience this causes.
Regards,
Steve

Following on from today's maintenance work, we have a problem with
ensembldb.ensembl.org and martdb.ensembl.org and these servers are
currently unavailable. We are working to fix this as soon as we can, and
apologise for the inconvenience it may cause.
Databases for the current release (ensembl 63) are available from our
mirror (mysql -h useastdb.ensembl.org -u anonymous -P5306)
