There may be a short period of downtime whilst the Sanger web frontend is reconfigured to point at the new machines, but other sites, including mirrors, should not be affected by this process. All Ensembl services and features should work normally on the new machines, but if you do spot any errors, please report them to helpdesk at ensembl.org Thanks Anne Anne Parker Ensembl Web Production Manager http://www.ensembl.org From st3 at sanger.ac.uk Fri Sep 9 11:14:28 2011 From: st3 at sanger.ac.uk (Stephen Trevanion) Date: Fri, 09 Sep 2011 11:14:28 +0100 Subject: [ensembl-announce] loss of ensembl services Message-ID: <4E69E704.1070104@sanger.ac.uk> Dear all, Urgent maintenance is required on some of the Ensembl hardware. As a consequence all Ensembl services based at Hinxton will be unavailable from 4pm BST this afternoon. We expect this to last for no longer than 30 minutes. The services affected will be the websites (www.ensembl.org, archive sites, vega.sanger.ac.uk, pre.ensembl.org) and the MySQL servers (ensembldb.ensembl.org and martdb.ensembl.org). The website and database mirrors will be unaffected. Apologies for any inconvenience this causes.
